The TARDIS arrives on an English coastline in the year 1066. Exploring, the Doctor discovers that one of his own people, the Monk, is conspiring to wipe out the Viking fleet and thus allow King Harold to face the forces of William of Normandy with a fresh army at the Battle of Hastings. The Doctor succeeds in thwarting the Monk’s plans and leaves him trapped in England.Episode 1The TARDIS lands on the English coast in 1066, but the travellers arepuzzled to find modern day artefacts. A monk observes the arrival ofthe TARDIS, but seems unsurprised.Episode 2The Doctor is held prisoner by the Monk in the monastery whilst Vickiand Steven search for him. Meanwhile, a Viking war party arrivesahead of the main invasion fleet.Episode 3Steven and Vicki discover an atomic bazooka. It seems that the Monkhas plans for the Viking invaders. Returning to the Monastery, Stevenand Vicki make an amazing discovery.Episode 4Discovering the Monk’s plan, the Doctor is determined to stop himmeddling with history. As the Viking fleet approaches, time is runningout for both the Monk and the Doctor.
